LEGAL ANALYSIS OF THE LATEST CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

In the Russian Federation, a set of constitutional amendments was adopted in a referendum in July this year. Having in mind the fact that Russia is one of the most important countries in the world, there is a scientific and social need to study the adopted amendments. Therefore, the subject of the research were adopted amendments. The normative and to a lesser extent the comparative law method were used were used in order to answer two questions. First, what is the change in the constitutional structure of Russia after them? Second, what is their goal? After these amendments, the position of the president was clearly strengthened, in the constitutional sense. The answer to the second question is not so clear, considering the constitutional history and constitutional practice of this country. Regardless of the fact that it is considered that the constitutional changes were made in the favor of the current president, the author believes that they are made to create and support a future leader, whom Russia will have to find after Vladimir Putin.
