ADAM SMIT I SAVREMENO DRUŠTVO

Sažetak

Ovaj rad dokazuje da su mnoga Smitova shvatanja, posebno ona iz „Teorije moralnih osećanja“ značajna za savremenu etiku i ekonomiju, danas potcenjena. U ekonomiji, npr., Smit nije samo razmatrao povoljnost ličnog interesa u tržišnojrazmeni, već i širok di­apazon moralnih motiva i institucija potrebnih za održavanje ekonomskih aktivnosti, uopšte. U etici, Smitov koncept ,,nepristrasnog posmatrača“, koji je u stanju da na naša osećanja gleda sa distance, doprinosi potpunijem razumevanju zahteva pravde, naročito putem shvatanja nepristrasnosti kao širenja vrednosnog horizonta izvan interesa lokalnih grupa. Smitov otvoren, uporedni pristup usmeren na forme društvene realizacije pravde u suprotnosti je sa onim što ja zovem ,,trancendentalnim insti­tucionalizmom“, popularnim u savremenoj političkoj filozofiji i posebno povezanim sa radom Džona Rolsa.
