LECTURE BY GARETH WALL
The lecture entitled “Local Democracy and Reconciliation Processes” was held on September 8, 2023 in the conference hall of the Institute for Political Studies at Dobrinjska 11.
Gareth Wall spoke about the role of local levels of government in reducing pre-conflict tensions and encouraging social cohesion as part of the post-conflict peace building process, through case studies of Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Northern Ireland, and the moderator was Andrea Matijević.
Garrett also referred to the role of women in post-conflict situations, focusing on their crucial importance in reconciliation processes.
